Hey,

This one is a little different from my usual emails.

I want to talk about something I have noticed over the past year —

Something I did not plan. Did not expect.

And honestly — something I am still trying to understand myself.

I am becoming more spiritual.

And I think — walking did it.

🙏 What I Mean By Spiritual

Not religious in a new way.

Not chanting. Not rituals.

Something quieter than that.

A growing sense of —

Gratitude. Presence. Connection to something larger than my daily problems.

Before I started walking —

My mind was always somewhere else.

At work during dinner.

On my phone during family time.

Worrying about tomorrow during today.

365+ days of walking — especially alone, in the early morning —

Slowly changed that.

🌅 What Happens During A Walk That Cannot Happen Elsewhere

When you walk — especially without your phone —

Your mind has nothing to do but think.

At first that feels uncomfortable.

Then — slowly — it feels like relief.

I started noticing things I had walked past for years.

The sound of birds at 6AM.

The smell of the air after rain.

An old man doing yoga under a tree.

A child laughing at something small.

I had been walking past all of this —

Staring at my phone.

Walking without a screen gave me back my senses.

💡 The Connection Between Physical and Spiritual Health

Every ancient tradition knew this.

Buddha walked. Gandhi walked. Yogis walked.

Movement was never just physical for them.

It was how they processed thoughts.

Found clarity.

Connected to something beyond the noise of daily life.

I used to think spirituality was separate from fitness.

After 365+ days —

I believe they are the same thing.

Taking care of your body IS a spiritual practice.

Every walk is a small act of respect for the life you have been given.

Every healthy meal is a quiet prayer of gratitude for a body that works.

Every early morning — when the world is still asleep — is sacred.

One Thing To Try This Week

On one walk this week —

Leave your phone at home.

No music. No podcast. No earphones.

Just you, your steps, and whatever is around you.

Notice what your mind does in the first 5 minutes.

Then notice what it does in the next 5.

I think you will surprise yourself.

The walk you take for your body might end up being the one your mind needed most.
