People ask me this question more than any other —

"Pulkit bhai, 365+ din ek bhi din miss nahi kiya? Kaise?"

How did you not miss a single day?

They assume the answer is willpower.

Or discipline.

Or some kind of extraordinary mental strength.

The real answer is much simpler.

And a little embarrassing to admit.

🔑 The Only Real Reason I Never Missed A Day

I was more afraid of breaking the streak than I was of walking.

That is it.

On Day 47 — when I did not feel like walking —

I did not think about health benefits.

I did not think about weight loss.

I thought about one thing —

47 din ho gaye. Aaj break karunga toh kal phir se start karna padega.

The streak itself became the motivation.

Not fitness. Not the scale.

Just — I am not starting over.

📈 How A Streak Changes Your Brain

Psychologists call this the "chain effect."

Jerry Seinfeld — one of the most successful comedians ever —

Used to put an X on a calendar every day he wrote jokes.

His only rule was —

"Don't break the chain."

The chain itself became the motivation.

Not the jokes. Not the success.

Just — the unbroken line of X marks on the wall.

I did the same with walking.

Day 1 — one X.

Day 7 — seven X marks.

Day 30 — thirty X marks.

By Day 60 — breaking that chain felt more painful than any walk.

The streak was protecting itself.

🌧️ What About The Bad Days?

Travel. Rain. Illness. Exhaustion. Family functions.

All happened. Multiple times.

My rule on bad days was simple —

Minimum viable walk.

Not 10,000 steps.

Not 5,000 steps.

Just enough to not have a zero.

Even 1,000 steps around the house at 10PM.

Even 500 steps in a hotel corridor.

The number did not matter on bad days.

The streak did.

Start Your Streak — Today

Not next week.

Not after the festival.

Not when the weather cools down.

Today.

Walk for 10 minutes.

Put an X on your calendar.

And tomorrow — protect that X like it is the most important thing you own.

Because after 7 days — it will be.

After 30 days — nothing will stop you.

After 365 days —

You will be writing emails like this one.
